Poetry
After a quick review of genre, this presentation defines poetry as the art of writing thoughts, ideas, and dreams in imaginative language. Poetic devices such as figurative language, alliteration, assonance, meter, and rhyme are defined. Brief descriptions and examples are given for limericks, haiku, diamantes, acrostics, and free verse.
